Patent Expert in Residence
Patent knowledge isn't something we outsource — it's part of our DNA. We already have patent professionals on the team who are deeply involved in product development. Now we want to expand that expertise. You'd join as an additional voice, working alongside our existing domain experts to test releases, stress-test workflows, and make sure every feature holds up against the reality of daily patent work. This is ideal if you want to stay in the profession but also help build the tools that are reshaping it.

- Test new features and releases alongside our existing patent experts
- Add your perspective to product discussions — the more viewpoints, the better our tools get
- Stress-test workflows against real-world patent scenarios we might not have covered yet
- Help validate that AI-generated outputs meet the bar practitioners expect
- Expand our coverage across different patent workflows and jurisdictions
- Collaborate with our team to refine what great patent software looks and feels like
What we're looking for
- Professional experience in the patent field — as an attorney, paralegal, examiner, or in IP management
- Deep familiarity with patent workflows: searching, drafting, prosecution, or portfolio management
- Strong opinions about what makes patent tools good or bad, and the willingness to share them
- Comfortable working with a tech team — no coding required, just curiosity and clear communication
- Available for 10-15 hours per week with flexible scheduling
- Fluent in English or German
Nice to have
- Experience with European patent procedures (EPO, DPMA, UPC)
- Familiarity with existing patent software tools and their limitations
- Interest in AI and how it's changing knowledge work
- Experience giving product feedback or participating in beta programs
