AI / ML Engineer
Our AI products help patent attorneys search, analyze, and understand millions of patent documents. We need someone who can push the boundaries of what's possible with retrieval-augmented generation, semantic search, and domain-specific language models. You'll work on real problems with real users — not research for the sake of research. If you want to see your models in production within days, not months, this is the place.

- Design and implement RAG pipelines for patent search and analysis
- Build and optimize semantic search across millions of patent documents
- Develop evaluation frameworks to measure and improve model quality
- Experiment with fine-tuning and prompt engineering for domain-specific tasks
- Collaborate with full-stack engineers to integrate AI capabilities into our products
- Stay current with the rapidly evolving LLM landscape and identify what's worth adopting
What we're looking for
- 3+ years of experience in ML/AI engineering or applied research
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, embedding models, and vector databases
- Strong Python skills and familiarity with ML frameworks (PyTorch, HuggingFace)
- Experience building and deploying production ML systems, not just notebooks
- Understanding of information retrieval, NLP fundamentals, and evaluation metrics
- Fluent in English; German is a plus but not required
Nice to have
- Experience with patent data, legal text, or other structured technical documents
- Familiarity with TypeScript / Node.js for integrating with our backend
- Published work or open-source contributions in NLP or information retrieval
- Experience with European cloud infrastructure and data privacy requirements
